Maxim Belovol is an experienced litigator focusing on commercial litigation and other civil matters. Max represents businesses and individuals in complex disputes involving contract breaches, fraud, consumer protection, and employment matters.
Before private practice, Max served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Cook County Commercial Calendar Section, drafting judicial opinions on high-stakes commercial disputes. An opinion Maxim authored in Wang v. Guo was affirmed by the Illinois Appellate Court, upholding the dismissal of a $13 million fraud case.
As an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn’s Domestic Violence Bureau, Max gained substantial courtroom exposure, handling hundreds of cases at a time, arguing motions, negotiating plea deals, and conducting evidentiary hearings. This experience developed strong advocacy skills and the ability to navigate high-pressure litigation.
Proficient in several languages, including Ukrainian, Spanish, and Russian, Max brings a global perspective to legal challenges. A former U.S. Collegiate National Champion in figure skating, Maxim applies the same discipline and strategic thinking to litigation.
Outside of work, Max enjoys rock climbing, outdoor skating, drawing, and embroidery. Max is also actively involved in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, organizing initiatives and fundraisers which support relief efforts and mutual aid to Ukraine.
